This is a preliminary sketch for a Xmas present I'm drawing for my mom. She's obsessed with fruits and veg and getting them in at every meal. I thought this would be a funny way to pay tribute to her favorite fruit; give it the romantic treatment. I used Manet's Olympia as a starting point, but I'm going to come up with my own fainting couch - time permitting! And now I have actual bananas to draw from (bought out Starbucks this morning.)
